Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Jennifer Genna, the founder of Sensory Nest.

I started Sensory Nest out of a simple frustration: finding genuinely good sensory products for children is harder than it should be. As a mom, I spent countless hours sorting through low-quality toys and vague descriptions to find things that are genuinely good — comfortable, well-made, and fun enough that kids genuinely want to use them. So I decided to build the shop I wished I'd had.

Every product we carry is chosen with a specific purpose in mind: fidgets and chewable tools that keep busy hands engaged, noise-reducing headphones for loud places, movement tools and swings that let kids play and burn energy, and cozy, comforting products for wind-down time. I don't believe in filling a store with hundreds of random items — I stock what I'd feel confident bringing into my own home. Before anything goes in the shop, we check that it's well made and safe, prioritizing non-toxic, BPA-free, and lead-free materials, because these products end up in little hands (and often little mouths).

We're a small, family-run, online-only business based in Piscataway, New Jersey.
